A few year's back I used to always enter Crystal Lake's Flash Fiction Contest. My stories would sometimes make it into the finals (I think it was about 50% acceptance rate) and I won once.
I did decide, especially as I'm less focused on self-publishing than I was, to enter this month. My story is into the finals, it is called Peek-A-Boo and it features two new characters from the novel I've been working on while I deal with the work-related stress which is making it difficult to clean up We Gave the World Synthpop Dreams into something that is publishable. You can read and vote for the stories on Crystal Lake Publishing's Patreon.
Although I am less focused on self-publishing this year, I do need to sort out my godless releases for the rest of the year over the upcoming weeks. And even if I secure a new job, I still need to hand in my notice and get settled, so it makes more sense to finish what I'm doing now before returning to We Gave the World Synthpop Dreams and Snow White (I'm still undecided about how I will publish Snow White, lots of different options, but plenty of time to decide). So, I may or may not enter more of the Shallow Waters competitions over the upcoming months.

Rats Scratch at the Linen Cupboard was my first entry into the contest. And A Table Set for One (which if I recall correctly, neither me or Joe particularly liked) won. I decided A Table Set for One wasn't so bad after that.
