A Penis in a Hat? A Penis Wearing a Hat? Who cares? Medieval monks liked to draw penises, or in this case, balls in their manuscripts. Like a lot of people, I find these illustrations to be hilarious. They appeal to my inner 15-year-old boy. That said, I am not interested in sexual harassment. Anyone being persistent or reading far too much into things will be reported to the relevant authorities. They're just funny drawings. I can't read the text in the manuscripts (I can't even remember what the fonts are called and only vaguely remember why the text looks the way it does). People tend to send me ones they find on social media, which I then save and sometimes draw. It all started with cats licking their butts.
I don't really have anything to say about this drawing. I extended the balls to include the shaft while wondering what the life expectancy of medieval monks was. Surely, the monks doing these illustrations weren't 15. I assume they lived somewhere between "field worker" and "king". As I said in the first paragraph, I just find these illustrations funny.
I have uploaded the drawing to Redbubble. It is on a few products. As I say on social media, I will sort out something with cheaper shipping to the rest of the world eventually. If you're in the UK when I start doing cons again (let me settle into my new job) I will have prints. You can order from Redbubble regardless of where you live, just be aware of shipping costs.
Not all of my drawings have made it onto the website yet. On top of being webmaster, I have books to write.
Scroll down for an in-progress video of this one. It is just under the inspiration for this drawing.
