I posted last week about my hair. It is finished now after two more bottles of toner. And my nails match. I am ready for Barbie now. That's going to be the film of the year. I already have my ticket. 

I plan to start recording new episodes of Story Time next week, which I'll be doing with pink hair and nails - everything else will be goth though. That's still open to submissions by the way. I think I have enough to last halfway through September, so if you are wanting to submit, some "cozy" horror for Spooky Month would be great. 

And on that thought, I'm going to get some lunch and work on my Halloween story. As I said, I really busy. I did have to postpone my plans for yesterday (minus having my nails done) due to the weather warnings (there better not be one for the Barbie Movie, I have to get to the city centre). 

Every year when the students leave, they leave something of a mess behind (okay, that's an understatement, the flytipping by students is absolutely disgusting). I saw this VHS tape (it wasn't even lonely, there were a few of them). The only way to survive the students and the mess they leave behind is a bit of humour. 

I saw this the same week Musk decided he wanted to cage fight Zuckerberg and Italy offered up the recently defaced Colosseum as the venue. Musk really shouldn't sue him and instead the cage fight should go ahead (yes, I am on Meta's version of Twitter). But let's face it, this time line is fucked up. And with all the social media reports of Mandela effects, I thought I could have some fun with this concept. The end of the Mayan calendar seemed as good a date as any. 

Given that I created this in Adobe Express (with a little of Lightroom and Photoshop Express) it isn't really a portfolio piece, but part of creating a portfolio and having all these (expensive) apps and an iPad (less expensive) is to have some fun. 

Is there a story in this? Probably, but much like Broccoli and Sparky the Spunky Robot, this one needs to brew. It needs all the elements to come together first. 

As I posted last week, I am super busy right now. Plus I still have a few short things to finish off ready for Halloween and the Godless Anniversary (in March). The Christmas, January and February releases are done, they just need formatting and covers. And I'm working on my portfolio. The videos on there plus the promo I do for them will be forming part of my portfolio. 

Today, I did manage to get an excerpt from The Midnight Pumpkin Fucker uploaded. That joins a few of my other books in having an excerpt. This one is only available on godless, but all links to buy the books are with the excerpts so you don't even need to click through to the book's landing page. I will try to get excerpts from all of my books posted over the course of the summer. 

Yesterday was spent at the salon trying to turn my hair pink. The hairdresser was somewhat successful but she's coming tomorrow after work with more toner. I think my hair currently looks great but due to the nature of toner, it won't last one wash. But in a few weeks it'll look like how it does now. 

Friday, I actually took some flexitime (which in retrospect, I should have used to get my nails done because they still aren't done). Knowing I'd be at the salon for an unknown length of time on Saturday, I wanted to start dinner early (damn sweet potatoes in the oven, they take ages) and put on the laundry (still didn't manage to wash my sheets or get the floors mopped, but the bathroom and front room were cleaned). 
One of the bird rescue groups had a magpie that needed to be picked up from my local vet, otherwise he'd be put to sleep. So I went to get him with about ten minutes to spare. I don't have any experience with magpies, but he needed someone to get him until a rehabber can be found (with bird flu, finding a rehabber is difficult but I was fully prepared to have this bird for a week or so). The vet said his injuries were mainly superficial and he was one lively bird on the way home. But he didn't last the night, which is sad but that's the nature of bird rescue. I think he must have passed at around 430 in the morning because usually when there's a bird in the house, Jerk Face sits outside the door of the room the bird is in all night, but he was screaming in my ears at 430.
