Well, I now have an iPad after never really wanting one. However, I thought it might be useful in helping to get me a new job and improve my skills. I have the free trials of various bits of Adobe including Photoshop, Express and Illustrator. Prior to the iPad arriving I took some photos for me to play around with after work this week. I thought people would be interested in seeing the originals. You can follow me manipulating them on my social media.
I won't be putting any of these up on Deviant Art until I'm actually good at it (although years of taking one selfie per day to keep the creeps away does mean I'm already better at it now than I was in college and university) but following my regular social media - mainly instagram and facebook will bring up what I do to them after work each day (or most days, I get tired).
So far, I am loving Photoshop Express and Lightroom (I couldn't use this one on my phone so hated it but put it on the iPad because I heard it is good, took me five minutes to sort out one of these pictures) but not Photoshop itself. I think GIMP is the closest I'm going to get to old Photoshop (like what is on my old G3). Illustrator has proven interesting so far.
Unfortunately, it looks like in order to have Lightroom and other programmes that come with Photoshop, I'm going to have to pay for subscription Photoshop. I'll give Photoshop more chances over the week though. It did take me awhile to learn how to use it on the desktop all those years ago.
